Looking Back

Looking back it is amazing how time can changes everything.
There uses to be nine of us kids and now there are only six of us left. We would get together and cerebrate the holidays and mom or dad birthdays. After dad passes away, it became imported for us to be together.
With nine of kids and our family there would be between twenty five to thirty people in one home. The house would be so full you could hardly moved. We would pray for nice weather so the kids to go outside and play. The girls would take turn at having a dinning in their homes we would rotate off on holidays. Everyone would bring couple of dishes of food. They would bring their guitar and we would set around for hours playing and singing. Someone would get a card game going and it would be around this time ,someone would start telling stories on somebody and this would go on way into the night. I would be so late that some of them would stay the night. We have so much fun.
Family had gotten so big we started having a brothers and sisters dinning and in the summer we try to have a big family together with all the children’s and grandchildren’s.
But as time passes it has taking some of our love one and the holidays are not the same we try to go on but there is something missing, their laughter, their voices and the playing and the singing are not the same.
I do long for those days, but I am so thankful that we had the time we had.
We miss our love ones very much, but I know one day we will all be together again and will pick up where we let off. This will be a great reunion.

Journey

As I was setting and looking afar,
and angel came
and stood by my side. He said come
with me, for we are going on a journey.
So I took his hand, for I did not fear.
As we were walking we started
to ascend upwardbeyond the clouds.
The heavens started to open
as if they were expecting us. I thought for a moment
what a beautiful dream. We enter into a gate, and there
I saw many mansions and streets paved with gold.
The walls surrounding the mansions were maked
of precious stones.
Then a bright light appeared in the distance, as it grew
Nearer it became brighter, THEN I Saw “HIM” holy
And glorious was HE “Oh” what an awesome sight,
to see my savior coming for me.
As He took my hand I realize this was not a dream.
I was home at last with my savior and my family
